It has been over a year since I moved to San Francisco, and I have not updated my site at all.
The lesson here? When you are extremely busy, extremely happy, and otherwise engaged in extreme adventures, certain things fall to the wayside. Writing articles for my personal site (and as a freelance writer) fell to the wayside. Woops.
Wait, but isn't this a new article?
No. It's just a simple update to let people know that I'm not stuck in 2010 still about to move to San Francisco for a new job. I've been here over a year. It's time to move on to a new topic of discussion.
So what have you been up to?
In short: A Lot.
Long Story: Since moving to San Francisco in April 2010, I have been tremendously happy. I have a lot of friends, am paid well to do something I love, have gotten to do all sorts of exciting things I was unable to do on the Eastern half of the U.S., and the pace has never slowed down for longer than a couple of days. A lot of it has to do with my work situation. Somewhere between April 2010 and June 2010, I changed roles at hi5. I began, in essence, taking over as site design lead. Somewhere between June 2010 and August 2010, I had stepped into the role in earnest, and in January 2011, I was officially promoted, given a new title, and all that which comes with it. I've got so much more to tell people about, but I really don't have time to keep writing.
